This latest example, Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA, shows the extent of these confinement zones.
It should be noted that in all the examples we have looked at Cleveland, Ohio, Portland, Oregon, and Edmonton, Alberta, there has been no mention of advanced technology in the smart cities/confinement zones such as artificial intelligence including AI consciousness, robotics, biometric surveillance, mass sensors, digital twinning of the physical realm including human beings, automated self-driving vehicles, big data centers, cellular grid including small cell sites, 5G millimeter wave... (Is there fear by authorities that the technology centric approach (transhumanism) will not go over well?)
Ann Arbor goes further than any confinement zones we have looked at.
The Office of Sustainability and Innovations oversees the confinement plan, and it is rooted in UN Agenda 2030.
The ideological and fear basis for the confinement zones are climate change (climate emergency) and related Ann Arbor carbon neutrality by 2030. The ideology and fear are assumed as fact, and it comes across as radical, extreme.
The main features of the confinement zones are as follows:
100% renewable energy as source of electricity (solar, geothermal, wind). This objective is consistent with the overall agenda, but it remains to be seen how feasible it is.
Higher costs for the use gasoline, oil, diesel, propane, natural gas through tiered parking rates that penalize traditional car drivers (and reward EV drivers and low income drivers), and citywide carbon tax on individuals, businesses, and organizations.
Related to this cost imposition, the creation of mixed-use neighborhoods so that people are confined to walking and biking distance within their zones. The goal is to reduce car ownership and reduce private vehicle travel by 50% (2030). It is reasonable to assume that people will be financially penalized if they leave their designated zones, and eventually people will be forbidden from leaving their zones.
Appliances/vehicles from gasoline, diesel, propane, and natural gas to be replaced by electric from renewable energies. The City has goals for electrify city and private fleets, electrify buses, and expand EV charging stations. (We assume these fleets will become automated self-driving EV vehicles, and not owned by the people.)
Impose net zero new building and major renovation codes by 2030.
Push plant-based diet on people (lab and insect based though not mentioned) and discourage traditional meats. Interestingly, there is no mention of organic and GMO foods, and foods grown from chemical based farming.
Establish ideological indoctrination and enforcement within neighborhoods through so-called neighborhood and youth ambassadors. It appears that people will not only be watched through the network grid including online and physical surveillance and internal bodily and external sensors, but by their neighbors. (The online censorship laws in the globalist West masked by hate and racism create internet police and investigators, and encourage people to turn on each other.)
In addition, there is a need distribute emergency preparedness kits. Is the ideology and fear absolute?
